I stumbled on your journal because I couldn't get that damned badass insanity script to work.. oh well. Anyhow, I figured I thought I would say hello.. mostly because I noticed that you listen to dope music.. and I'm jealous of all the shows that you have available to you. So, anyway... to make a short story really really really long.. HELLO!
    Aug. 14th, 2002 03:09 pm (UTC)
Hey. Yea, unfortuntely you need a paid account to make the insanity script work.
Yea, I'm really surprised by the number of acts coming to Seattle next month. I can't wait to see Themselves. Dose one is amazing live. I'm crossing my fingers that they do "it's them".

    Capitalism...crapitalism...it follows me everywhere.

I have been searching for a Dose One solo album, but to no avail. I don't even know if one exists, but I want it, whether it does or not. "It's them" is such a phat track. I recently got the Anticon: Alias Through the Looking Glass album, and it's become a permanent fixture in my stereo. I love it.

The Dose one solo album is called Hemispheres. It's amazing. I see it every so often in some of the small stores that carry anticon and mush albums. But then, it looks like Hip Hop Infinity has it instock as well.

I also have the slow death album, which isn't so much a hip hop album as it is a spoken word album.
    Aug. 14th, 2002 03:47 pm (UTC)
Slow Death sounds beautiful.. I love spoken word.. I guess you ould say it's my art. ha! As if I were an artist. Thank you for the tip, by the way, because I've been asking around the record stores here, and no one knows (even those that specialize in UG hip-hop). You rock.
    Aug. 17th, 2002 05:07 pm (UTC)
Anything anticon related is just a huge pain in the butt to find in stores. I tend to buy all those cds online or at the shows because it's so much easier that way.

    Have you heard Sage Francis?
    Aug. 19th, 2002 07:40 am (UTC)
Hell yeah, Sage Francis is phat. There is one store here that sells a lot of Anticon, they are a hip-hop only record store, and they son't sell shit like Nelly and Jay-Z at all. Not even Snoop. I love it... I was surprised that they didn't carry any Dose One
    Aug. 19th, 2002 09:39 am (UTC)
That is surprising. Maybe it's a personal reason if they aren't carrying mainstream stuff either.
    Aug. 19th, 2002 10:11 am (UTC)
I believe so. It's an amazing store, but I'm sure they don't make much.
    Aug. 25th, 2002 03:43 am (UTC)
There is a rare untitled solo Dose One album which I found online. It'd be worth asking around for, I'd definitely call it his best in terms of pure rhyming and cleverness, though as a piece of art it falls woefully short of Circle and Clouddead. Hemispheres is actually a remix album of Untitled, by the way, but nobody knows this because they have never heard Untitled. The half the vocal tracks from Hemispheres are on Untitled and with much better tracks.

Wow, thanks so much for the info!
