Fans, Todo lists

My room is really hot. I just finally got a fan to put in the window to help make it not so hot in here. But I'm not really sure about something. Is it better to have the fan blowing air in the room from the window, or blowing air out of the room through the window?

Which direction should the fan face?

It should be blowing air out of the window.
8(36.4%)
It should be blowing air in the window.
9(40.9%)
Neither. The fan should go somewhere else.
5(22.7%)

The todo list for today:
  • Get some food
  • Job hunt
  • decided if I want to go to the LJ meet up thing(and if I do, which one?)
  • clean up room a bit
  • Get away from the computer and go outside

it's best to have air flowing thru the room- to pull stale air out, fresh air in.
at my place, during the day, the fan blows out the front of the house, as the driveway's a giant heatsink, and gets too warm.. the backyard air is cooler. at night, I turn it to blow into the room, as it's directly shoving cooler air in.
the suck method doesn't work as well as the blow method- too many leaks.
yes, abuse that last statement at will :)

Maybe I should make a diagram of my room so you can see my current set up.

Re:
works for me...
I use the entire "garage" area of my house as a windtunnel- fan's enough to keep both rooms cool.

Ok, the fan at the top by the window is blowing air out. There are two computers that are on underneath it pumping out more then enough heat. The fan at the bottom is next to the door. It's one of those fans that rotates back and forth so it's moving the air around.

Re:
looks good. is the air outside the window cooler than the air in room? if so, rty blowing air into rom, and having other fanbetween puter and bed, hitting doorway on edge of arc?
it takes a little playing with to get it down, but it's worth it ;)

The air outside is fairly warm. The sun is shining on that part of the house. The air in other parts of the house are much cooler.

I'll try turning the fan in the window around and see if that helps.

meetup
Amber and Evan and I (shocking! the three of us together? what?) are planning to go, probably around 9 (when Amber is off work). Last Amber and I talked about it, we were going to try to go to both.

If you blow air into the room in the early morning it helps to keep it cool, too. If you're up at 4 am or whatever, that is.

I'll try that.
