The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy has been a long anticipated movie for me. I grew up reading the books, they were my 'lord of the rings' kinda. I've seen the BBC tv show and I've filled my brain with Douglas Adams humor and ideas. Movies are a special thing for me and getting to see these ideas on a big screen, absorbing my full awareness for 110 minutes is an exciting prospect. So when it was all said and done, what did I think?

I liked it.

It had some weaknesses and the love story is tacked on, but the vast majority of it is excellent. Douglas Adams' writing shines through this and the film maker's vision of this universe is true to him. What it felt like to me was that they had a long script filled with all sorts of great ideas but with no ending. So they cut out a bunch of stuff and hired some screenplay writer to finish the movie all nice and neat. Nothing really wrong with that, the ending felt a little incomplete and it leads itself to another film.

I have to work tomorrow, so I'm cutting this off here.
