When you work in a bowling alley near Bremerton, WA, quite often all you can do is think of all the things you’d rather be doing than working in a bowling alley in Bremerton, WA. For this group of misfits, their hours of daydreaming lead them to only one conclusion: they’d much rather be making a triple X movie than spraying bowling shoes. Once the idea gets momentum, it’s hard to stop. After all, how hard can it be?
At 4:00 on 5/25 at the Broadway Performance Hall
The Archangel’s Feather (2002)
Contemporary World Cinema
92 minutes
Set in the 1930s, the citizens of a small Venezuelan town live in terror of the telegraphed orders of their dictator. When the telegraphist dies, his replacement, Gabriel, a man well acquainted with the airwaves, decides to distort the fearful messages and replace them with happier ones. As he delivers these messages, he asks the residents "Why do people follow orders?" "A studied approach to magical realism brings charm to a Venezuelan fable." Variety 2003 Official Oscar Submission (Foreign Language Film)
Does anyone want to join me for either of these movies? You can buy tickets online (follow my links there) or at the Broadway Performance Hall (siff box office).

Ok, so I'm going to head on down to Cara and Kristen's now for the season finale of 24. So excited!
