Very important reading! (

Everyday, I hear people go on about how we have to go to war. I have to go and kill all the evil men in the world before the go steal more planes and take down more buildings. We have to do this, we have to do that. When I listen to the politicians, all I hear is war war war.

I know I'm not alone when I say I don't want it. Read the article that I linked in the subject (props to sillyape). Read The Onion. Read my friend's livejournals. There are people like me that are saying "No, war is not the answer to this problem". This is hopeful, but I'm afraid that it won't be enough.

When I get in a conversation with people, I try and explain my feelings and views about the war that everyone seems to want. I try and explain why I believe that it's not just a bad idea, but it's the horribly wrong direction that we should be going. That it will only lead to more civilian deaths on both sides. But people just say "But there is nothing else we can do!" They don't listen to anything I'm trying to say. Granted, I have a hard time expressing myself vocally. I always have. But it's not that hard to stand back and think about why this is happening and what the terrorist really want. They really want a World War 3. They really want to break up our normal way of life and make us suffer. I know of the evils that the American Government has done. I hear about this things. I understand why they want to fight us. They have nothing to lose. When an enemy is already prepared to die for the cause even before the war has started, what can killing them do?

Anyways, I feel like I am rambling now. I'm going to go back to reading now.
