peace cafe was quite fun. bill and mike showed up. i talked to bill and a guy who's name has escaped me. movies seemed to be the topic of the night. after a bit, me and bill started to discuss computer stuff. that was fun as well. bill is smart.

after being at the peace cafe for a while, we all left and went to denny's. bill bought me some food (such a nice boy) and there was good times spread all around. after a while, we left and i dropped bill off. back at the hizzouse now. nothing really exciting going on around here, though. i'm feeling groggy. maybe i'll go to bed soon for a change. evan talked about doing something tomorrow, but i haven't heard anything more from him. but i'm free and willing to do things (as long as it doesn't cost money).

i should look for a job tomorrow as well. i hate job hunting. bill suggested working at an isp. maybe speakeasy or bazillion. but i'm not sure what i could do there besides tech support. not enough experience to do anything else. oh well, even tech support would be fine.

i'm going to install debian

i am going to bed now. have been thinking about doing something for a long time. i think i'm going to install debian on moonunit tomorrow. now that i have a faster connection, i will be able to deal with it and since it's new to me, it will be interesting. i have tried a couple times before but i alway mess that sort of thing up. this is my biggest worry about that. that i wouldn't know what i'm doing and then break something.

the nice thing about it if i do it is that it will be easier to stay up to date with it. gnome will work with it. i have my partitions already set up so there is no worry there. i think the only potential problem is me messing up apt while trying to grok it. (side note. grok is in the dictionary on my computer. so very cool. :)

but anyways, it's not like i have had this latest install of slackware on this computer. i wanted to put debian on it before. i will need to make boot discs for the computer tomorrow first. should be a fun project.

i woke up a little while ago. i have a crazy ass dream last night. i can't remember how the story line went on this dream, but i do remember that these things were involved: a wedding, super heros (like spiderman and batman), me having esp, an assassination attempt, and people questioning ryan's past. all in all, a very strange dream. :P

my dad bought a hub so that i could network tim's computer. i also have to install a new floppy drive in tim's computer. so i'll start the debian install, and then start working on those.

i was trying to get the boot discs made for debian on my parent's computer, but my dad kicked me off. i should do it on my computer anyways.

debian is going good. i'm downloading everything now. hooray!
my dad and me are going out for pizza for dinner. we hope to find a computer store that's still open so we can buy a cable for tim's computer.

status update:
tim's computer is online now. i have the hub in my room on top of my computer. we bought a 50 foot cable and it's just long enough to line the wall through my room and then line to door frame of tim's room. it will remain somewhat hidden and that's cool.
as for the debian project, the system is all up and running, but i have been having a problem with the x server. it's not so much a problem with getting the x server to run as much as it's a problem getting the window manager to cooperate. sigh. but i'm back in windows because i needed a GUI for a little bit. i needed my livejournal. :)

i'm going to get a coke to drink and get back to work on this.
