watched a lame robert duvall movie

was watching a movie with my dad, but it wasn't that interesting. it was an old robert duvall movie called 'the outfit'. it was on cable. the plot was boring. oh well. erin seems to have been trying to get ahold of me. also, just to note, adam needs to learn to type html a little better. he broke my style. :P

one more quick note:
cowboy bebop disc 4 shipped today. yay!

smoking

i haven't smoked in about a week now. it's not that i have been trying to quit or anything. i'm not addicted. it they are really nice, and relaxing. i want a smoke right now. don't have any so i would have to get up and drive to the store and buy a pack. don't know if i want a smoke that bad, though.

it's a strange habit. there are so many reasons not to. cost too much, makes you smell bad, leaves a bad after taste, it segregates you from others when you do it. but the only reason i do smoke is cause i feels good. that seems to out weigh the bad at times. like right now.

hrm...

Requiem for a Dream

The MPAA is expected to rule today (Augest 23, 2000) on an appeal filed by the makers of the critically praised indie Requiem for a Dream (2000), to change the NC-17 rating meted out to the film. Requiem, starring Jared Leto, Jennifer Connelly, Ellen Burstyn and Marlon Wayans, is set to open on Oct. 6. According to today's New York Post, the scene that the ratings board presumably found most objectionable is one that is intended to reveal the depths of degradation that the lead character has fallen into as a result of cocaine use. She is seen simulating a sex act with another woman as leering men stand by cheering. Director Darren Aronofsky told the Post that altering that scene would destroy the anti-drug message that he sought to convey. "I don't think there is any way I could cut that scene that they would be happy with it," he said.

Requiem for a Dream, part 2

for a connection to an earlier post i made. Requiem for a Dream. went to the official web page today. http://www.requiemforadream.com/. this is one of the coolest flash pages i have ever seen. it's completely insane, but it's really cool, too. again, i can not wait for this movie. also, note on the webpage that they say it's NC-17. looks like they are going to keep that rating and not cut anything. interesting.

on a side note: evan, I'll give you a ride. not a problem. see you at the p&r. message me or comment with the time you will be there.
