Patrick,

Congratulations! You’ve been selected as our Comcast Triple Play Contestant for the 9/30 Mariners game. Just for being selected, you won a haircut from Supercuts and ten (10) Comcast On-Demand Movie coupons. These materials will be put in the mail to the address you provided when you entered. If the team DOES turn a triple play during the selected game, you will win an HDTV. We will contact you if this happens.

Congratulations on being selected and thanks for listening to the Seattle Mariners radio network!

Just out of curiosity I looked up the likelihood of a triple play occurring in a given game and it's 1,400 to 1. Not sure if that "1" is per play in a given game, or per game total.

I believe the '1' in question describes a scenario in which a triple play would even be possible, i.e. two base runners minimum. It's very rare and I don't remember the Mariners ever making a triple play but I would love to see one.

According to this site, the Mariners have turned 9 Triple plays since their founding in 1977. I'm still looking for a list of the actual dates those happened though.

Ah, here it is. The last time the Mariners made a Triple play was 7/13/1995 against the Toronto Blue Jays.
