Fallen Solder

I am quite enjoying my daily bike rides home from the park n ride after I get off from work.

Each night, my cell phone alarm goes off at 11:30 p.m. If I'm at work, I get up and walk into the back of the restaurant. My bike is in the back room, waiting for me. Rolling it out through the front door, I yell "bye" to everyone in the bar and go outside. The bar is 4 blocks from the bus stop, which is right outside the Cinerama on 4th and Lenora. The bus leaves about 11:35, and I haven't missed it yet1. The bus rolls to my stop, the Eastgate park n ride, at about midnight. I jump on my bike and ride to the 7-11. Here, I buy a 24oz beer and a bottle of water. Occasionally, I have gotten a coffee drink, an energy drink or a second beer as well, depending on the mood I'm in. I put the 24oz beer in the water bottle cage and everything else goes into my KEXP bag2. Off I go, to the bike path along I-90. I get home around 12:30.

This is the second day since I've started biking that I've lost the beer en route. The first time was because I crashed, but this time I'm not really sure. I noticed it was not in the water bottle cage when I got home. As far as I can guess, I think I lost it while on the bike path when I ran over a fallen tree branch. How disappointing!

1. This bus from Seattle to the Eastgate park n ride is the only bus I have consistently not missed. Every other bus I try to catch on a regular basis, I have missed at least once.
2. Did I ever mention that I lost my awesome black little KEXP bag? I left it in a bar, I think. I went back to the bar the next day and they didn't have it in lost and found. I'm very sad about this. I do have the orange messenger bag because I love these bags from KEXP.
