pleasure in cooking

I'm on my way to running my own bar, I swear. I haven't done the beer brewing thing since I moved into my parent's house, but I keep on dreaming of it and as soon as I have a job again, I'm going to start that up again. Today, I did some playing around in the kitchen and made potato chips. Some of them were burned, but some of them turned out really good too. That's going to take a bit more work.

Is it easy to make beer? I've never heard of someone brewing their own.

It's not very hard at all. The equipment cost ran about $100 for the carboys, the large boiling pot and the other various things you need. The ingredients cost about $25 on average.

Recipes are not hard to find either, and the store that I go to when I'm buying the stuff I need for it supplies a lot of basic recipes for all sorts of beer.

It's a fun hobby and it doesn't take that much effort to do it right, but it's a long process. A beer will not be ready til nearly a month after you cook it, if that.

I keep all my brewing notes and planning on livejournal here. antispinbrew
