Oh the horror!

An 11th film is beginning production in the Friday the 13th franchise. Michael Bay's production company Platinum Dunes has been hired by New Line Cinemas to make the new movie about Jason Voorhees' origins. Slated for a release date of Friday, October 13th. Just in time for my birthday. Color me excited.

I drank a lot yesterday.

it was pretty good. I am a little afraid to check how much money I spent while I was buying drinks.

Please shoot me now.

I can understand bad offshoots of movies to a point. Take for example, my infatuation with "Cube" movies. The difference lies in how good they overall story is weaved, and for christ's sake I think the 13th franchise died when Jason did something with TOXIC WASTE. It reminds me of Star Trek 4: The Search For Political Correctness.

Beer, on the other hand, is very good.

These movies are masterpieces. Granted, Jason takes Manhatten was a low point, but after new line bought the franchise, it's been more hit than miss. People hate on Jason X (JASON IN SPACE!!!) but they are wrong.

True. They also hated on Hellraiser: Bloodlines. A damn good plot flushed down the tubes at just the right moment.

I don't think Bloodlines worked quite as well as Jason X, but I think they tried to squeeze too much into the movie when they should have been focusing on one time period. In general, I am more disappointed in the Hellraiser series then impressed.
