So here is the current plan.
I have to be out of the Beacon Hill house by the end of the month. I don't really have anywhere to go, so I'm moving back to my parents house for a short time. Hopefully, I will find a job and be able to move back out on my own, but while on unemployment I can't afford it.

Plan B is that I will move to Idaho to live with my brother Mike for a while. It's tempting to escape the Seattle area. Pocatello is smaller than I'm used to, but I could make due with it. If I do this, it would be a stepping stone to move to a better city, once I found myself. I'm still dreaming of Austin.

I definitely think you should follow your dream, and if Idaho is a stepping stone to that dream then that's awesome, but beware of the "grass is greener" fallacy - that moving someplace else will inherently be better. I think Brendan fell pray to it a little bit when he moved to Ithica, and all he found was a small-ass town and few people his age to really connect with. That's how I imagine Idaho being, too. I think guys like us thrive on big cities, to say nothing of the fact that we're young, energetic, and always wanting to meet new people. Moving to a small town seems very limiting.

So, not saying you shouldn't do it, especially if it's a means to an end, but just one opinion amongst many to consider...

When you get shitty drunk and cant/wont/dont dare make the haul back to the darkside, I have an empty bed for you to crash on whenever. Only downer is that it isn't in it's own room, you'll have to be in the same room as me.

I've only really spent time in Post Falls and Coeur d'Alene, but I rather enjoy(ed) Idaho.

Best of luck with whatever path you follow, Patrick.

Funny how living with someone will make it so you never talk to them about there lives. I think that time away from Seattle is great, I just recently did it and it changed me for the worst.. I mean better.. yea better. I personally am allergic to Idaho because he had 13 different varieties of death but I think that if you want something different then Idaho is about as different as you can get from seattle. also, you get to say I DA HO! isnt that reason enough to move.
