Decibel Film Festival

Everyone is talking about the Decibel Festival that's coming this weekend. I don't have too many plans for going to anything during it, but last monday I called KEXP on my way to Dante's and won two passes to see Sonic Acts at the film festival this weekend. The screenings for that are Friday through Sunday at 5 and 6:45pm. I basically just need to pick a day.

This entry is mostly a reminder for myself, because otherwise I would totally forget to go to this!

SONIC ACTS
(Frank Scheffer, Netherlands, 1999, BetaSP, 60 min.)
Using interviews, performances, and great archival footage, SONIC ACTS traces the development of electronic music and explores connections and conflicts between the music of early electronic pioneers and the dance music of new-generation artists. The film features Karlheinz Stockhausen, Pierre Henry, John Cage and other prominent figures in the genre's history, as well as contemporary artists including Squarepusher and DJ Spooky. Additional performance footage will also be shown before the film.
