I get about 75 to 100 spam emails for every 1 email that is good or interesting. And this includes livejournal comments. That's just way out of hand. The amount of email that I get seems to break pop3 when I'm trying to download my email to my computer. The spam protection build into Mozilla's mail reader is great, but if it can't download the email, then it's still not good enough.

Dante's was great. Everyone got good and drunk and I got to do a farewell shot with Jim. I'm going to miss him when he's gone. He said that the new bartender that's replacing him on mondays is good, though.

I am still up and I'm an idiot for that. I have to be at work at 7 am. :(

I *know* I could get seriously reamed for this, but...

Mozilla = blows.
Eudora = yay

Their spam filter hits just about every single piece.

And now I end my geek, and go back to coffee.

depending on where you get your mail from, it is more effective to filter spam at the source.

What does that mean? I like learning.

I use Juno cause it's free and non-web-based etc. I don't get very much spam at all. I'm careful with where I type my address though.

pop3 is one of the ways that email programs on personal computers communicate with the email servers where everyone's email gets received.

pop3 and imap are the most common ones you see.

Oopsie Daisie! I knew that stuff, I should've been more clear...

What I meant was "What do you mean when you say the 'amount breaks POP3.'"

I assumed this meant that the number of messages received in a given time exceeded some sort of threshold or limit placed on POP3 accounts. But I wasn't sure, so I asked.

I don't understand it completely why it's doing it, but it seems to get hung up on some messages that I get as spam. Maybe there is a timeout limit from the mail server or something.
