Seeing the Livejournal commerical

The livejournal commerical is showing at the bellevue galleria starting today. I really want to go see a movie anyways, so I think once I get out of work here, I'm going to drive down to bellevue and see a movie. Now the question is, what movie to see? Also, does anyone want to join me?
Poll #219556 Movie sign

What movie should I see? I haven't seen any of these movies yet.

Bad Santa
Haunted Mansion, The
Last Samurai, The
Lost in Translation
Love Actually
Love Don't Cost a Thing
Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World
Something's Gotta Give
Stuck on You

If you can get out of Bellevue for a movie, I'm all for company. We can figure out what time the showing is once the movie is narrowed down.

Re: Holy flaming shit balls.
I really wasn't as impressed with Lost In Translation as most. It was an excellent film, the cinematography was wonderful and I adore Bill Murray, but it just lacked... something. I do think I need to see it again, though.

I had free preview passes to Bad Santa before it was released, but Joe ended up having to work too late that night and we missed it. Bummer. I've heard it's all kinds of twisted.

Let's hear it for PS filters.
Oh, I was definitely glad it didn't go the cute and/or predictable route, so it's not so much that I had those kinds of expectations. I just really felt maybe there could've been a little more development, or a little more rise and fall. I just expected something... more. But I definitely agree with your last sentence and think that's where a lot of the appeal lies. I think we've all had those moments.

Truth be told, we probably won't see it before it's out of theatres. Unless it's a movie I've really wanted to see, I tend to wait until I can score free passes or at least until it's at The Crest.

For the most part.
Some of them my boss at RD will offer to me, some of them we just have sitting on the desk at the RD studios [free for the taking], and some of them Joe will get from his boss or another co-worker. [But the majority of them do come from Radio Disney.]

In the future, I will see if it's a possibility to score an extra pass [a lot of the time they're "Admit Two" per pass.] and send it your way.

Re: Speaking of...
THA [Terry Hines and Associates] do jillions of movie previews in the area. I'll also get some contact info for Paramount next week.

interesting theory
But just because you see mostly "good" movies doesn't mean you like them. CASE IN POINT.

Re: interesting theory
I never get any memos about this sort of thing.

But then, I live and die by livejournal polls.

Re: Holy flaming shit balls.
Lost in Translation is definitely one that I've been wanting to see forever, but I haven't been going to any movies at all so I just haven't gotten around to seeing it yet.

Bad Santa is another very tempting movie. Everyone that has seen it has raved about it so it seems like I can't go wrong with it.

Re: Holy flaming shit balls.
Plus, it's all festive and stuff. But not sugar-coated, a little bit o' holly-jolly shoved down your throat festive. I'm thinking that's just what you need.

Re: Holy flaming shit balls.
I think I'm actually going to end up seeing the last samurai with my coworker.

hi friend. i'm mal. i just randomly wondered on to your journal, respectfully. i just thought i'd say that i live near bellevue and that all of those movies are bad =]
at least most of them, i suppose. my brother saw Bad Santa, and said that was bad, and I saw Gothika and that was stupidly twisted. but i guess Lost In Translation was a good movie...so....i guess if i were you i'd go with that.
have a great day....sorry for this random comment.

hello. I'm patrick. I always enjoy comments from new people so thanks for reading. :)
I ended up seeing Bad Santa which was decent. It had it's moments for sure, but maybe it's more of a rental next year. I love seeing movies regardless so I enjoyed myself anyways. I still want to go see Lost in translation and I'm very curious of last samurai. But the poll is fun because I can see what movies people recommend. I think it's interesting seeing who recommends what.

I live in the u-district so I always have the option for lots of indie movies, but i was at that theater more to see the lj commerical, which I didn't even see. bummer.

They better not start showing that commercial here! Then someone might get curious, go on line, and discover my journal!

You know, I've seen a lot of movies in my life. And yes, I've even had those times where I've been the theatre junkie, going to see films multiple times a week for weeks on end. Triple feature Saturdays and things like that too.

And I don't understand how people can get so negative about movies.

Rarely in my life have I seen a movie that didn't have any redeeming qualities... that wasn't, on some level, impressive. I mean... it only makes sense... film making is such a challenging endeavor, and takes such hard work that it only makes sense that every film would have something likeable about it.

Lately though (like, for the past year and a half?) I just haven't been much of a movie watcher. I still see them by default sometimes, but whatever. My guess is that if you pick any of those movies, it should be just fine. I voted for Gothika only because I've kinda been a thriller junkie for a while now. It's like when you become a regular patron at a certain restaurant, and you order the same thing every time. That's me with thriller movies. Unfortunately, most of the times I rent or see a movie, the people I am with are not thriller junkies. Oh well.
