I was looking over the results of the poll I posted yesterday about cheating in relationships. Some interesting results have come up.

Currently, of all the people that said they have cheated on someone, 80% of them are female. But interestingly enough, of all the people that said they have been in a relationship were the other person cheated on them, it's exactly 50% male and 50% female.

basically, the confusion I have is that one side of the poll is 50/50, but the other side says that women are cheating mostly.

maybe one gender tends to have been in more relationships, so it evens out? If a girl has been in 1.5 times the relationships as a guy has, her odds of a guy cheating on her go up accordingly...

Good point. I could buy that girls are in more relationships then guys.

I don't really like the conclusions, but they do make sense.

That's because females are more willing to confess that they've cheated in the past. Men are less likely to admit their mistakes.

Possible.

I think that blanket statement has about as much weight as the "girls tend to date more people then guys" statement. There is no real backing or proof for it.

Personally, I don't think anyone that answered the poll is lying. I don't see any reason for them too.

Perhaps the guys just aren't finding out about it?
